My battery was exactly like that pictured--a replacement for the original 1217 in my Belkin UPS system. I keep my computer system up 24/7. The original 1217 lasted 5 years. Battery problem or excessive power surging lately here in Seattle area.? You pays your money and you takes your pick!!

This battery works by storing electrical charge. Do date, it has done so without exploding or producing any noxious fumes. It sits in the case and holds an unbelievably large number of electrons until I need them.

This is the same brand and model battery that came in my APC UPS. When the battery went, I was pleased to see that the very expensive battery APC offered on their website was available through an Amazon vendor for a lot less. Just hook it up, let it charge, and you're good to go. I paid a bit more for this than for other compatible replacements because it is the same exact battery the UPS came with.
